Trellech Village Hall Newsletter – February 2016


A (very, very!) belated happy new year to you all.  January came and went so fast I didn’t get around to doing the newsletter – apologies!

Where has our winter gone?  No snow to speak of, hardly any frost but plenty of rain!  Still, isn’t it lovely to see the snowdrops and daffodils out?  Spring is in the air.

Trellech Teas is now collecting your old stamps – find out more below.  Plus, we’re starting to think about what to do this year for the BIG Weekend.  And, while I have have finger to keyboard, don’t forget that you can hire out the Hall for your own events – parties, workshops, classes.  If you’d like to find out more, do visit our website or see the article below.

Stamp collectors
If you have any post with stamps on, please cut them out and bring them with you to the Teas.  Marion Evans is collecting them for charity and we are installing a box for you to drop them in.  For the moment Marion will be taking them to Oxfam, but if you have another charity who you’d like them to go to let us know.
Trellech BIG Weekend
Meeting – March 1st 8:00pm

Trellech BIG Weekend has been running for three years now, four if you count the Jubilee Celebrations.  What do you think should be the format this year?  Should we have the same as before, spread the events over the year or something else?  The focus is on something for the community but that can be interpreted in many ways.

If you’d like to be involved in deciding what to do this year, come along to the meeting on March 1st.  We’ll be in The Lion.  If you have some views but can’t make the meeting, please email them to Sarah Whiddett on the email address at the bottom of this newsletter.

Booking the Hall

Did you know you can book the Village Hall for a wide range of events?  It is the ideal venue for many social events and celebrations such as weddings, christenings, birthdays as well as workshops and classes.  There is a catering standard kitchen, modern heating system and seating for 60+ people depending on layout. Outside there’s parking for approximately 20 cars plus grounds for photographs should the event require.

Rental fees are very reasonable at between £9 and £11 per hour, depending on which day of the week you book.
