Driving past the work that’s being done on the new housing in Trellech has got me thinking about what a great community the new ‘Trellechies’ are joining. With our shop, pub, church, schools, doctors and village hall there is no excuse to be lonely or feel isolated.
Trellech Teas is OPEN on Good Friday, so please come along. We’ll have Easter goodies for everyone. There is also some news below about this year’s BIG Weekend and some advance notice of a very special evening with the stars and the men from MARS.
So, as always, grab a cuppa and read on….
Good Friday – OPEN!
2:00pm – 4:30pm
The dedicated Trellech Tea Ladies will be donning their pinnies on Good Friday to make sure you don’t miss out on your cake, chat and cuppa. We will have things to do for the young at heart too so do pop in and join us.
Trellech BIG Weekend
July 15th, 16th and 17th
This year’s BIG Weekend is starting to take shape and we’ve set the dates. So far we’re repeating some of the successful elements of last year’s event, including the Dog Show and skittles on Saturday afternoon and Sunday lunch at The Lion, this year with a Dog Show to ‘serenade’ us as we eat. We also hope to organise another Wine Tasting event on the Saturday evening and music in the church on the Friday evening. As ever, the weekend will kick off with Trellech Teas on the Friday.
There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved so if you would like to take part – helping organising something, fundraising for your own good cause or offering your talents in any way, please let me know.
Our next meeting is scheduled for April 19th, 8:00pm at The Lion. If you can’t make it, but would like to contribute, email me using the email address below this letter – or just reply to this email.
A Night with the Stars
Saturday April 9th 7:30pm
Enjoy a night with the stars with men from MARS (Monmouth Astronomical Research Society). Dr Keith Moseley will give a presentation on the Night Sky including the latest on Tim Peake and the ISS. After light refreshments Keith and Colin Harris will set up their telescopes for star gazing – weather permitting of course.
This event is part of the Chepstow Walking Festival. For more information on this, and all the other great events (including a walk in the village on April 6th), please visit their website www.walksinchepstow.co.uk
