Trellech Tea Ladies ‘Thank you’ Day Trip, and 4th Birthday Celebration

Every now and then the Trellech Tea Ladies are treated to a trip to say ‘thank you’ for all their hard work to keep the Teas going. This year it was to Dewstow Gardens – and our turn to be waited on! Once again, a BIG thank you to all of them – those in the picture and those who couldn’t make it.

The ladies, from L-R are: Lynne Seymour, Ann Powis, Sarah Whiddett, Yvonne Turner, Jean Hughes, Gladys Young, Margaret Morris, Ruth Potter, Karen Bourner, and Linda Garwood.

Last month at Trellech Teas we said goodbye to Sarah Whiddet who is leaving the area and moving to Saundersfoot. Sarah set up Trellech Teas in September 2012, primarily to provide the villagers of Trellech with a place to socialise and secondly to raise funds for the Babington Centre and the Big Weekend.

The tea ladies and supporters of Trellech Teas showed their appreciation for Sarah’s dedication to co ordinating Trellech Teas for the past four years by presenting her with a card, flowers and a silver bangle to remember us by.
Trellech teas will continue with Margaret Morris and Jean Hughes co-ordinating, and the usual service including wonderful cakes will still be provided by our happy band of tea ladies.

However, Trellech Teas will no longer donate money to the Big Weekend as there are enough funds to provide for this event for the foreseeable future. As such, we are presently looking to support alternative charities – will keep you informed.
On the 23rd of September, Trellech Teas will be celebrating their fourth birthday in the usual fashion – tea and cakes ! We do hope you can join us.

We are also looking for new helpers for serving and baking (if you can only serve or only bake that would also be much appreciated). If you are able to, please contact Margaret Morris on 01600 860906 or email: mhmorris@hotmail.co.uk
or Jean Hughes on 01600 869054 or email: jeanmclhughes@fsmail.net
