Trellech Teas warming up for Summer

(Trellech Teas opens every Friday at the Babington from 2pm to 4.30pm)

We continue to welcome all at Trellech Teas, as we hopefully move towards warmer weather.

This month, we are proud to say that as we run as a not for profit organisation, we are able to make three substantial donations from last year’s takings. This is due of course to our customers and volunteer helpers and bakers, without whom we would not be able to run.

The ‘good causes’ identified this year are; Solas, who provide a broad range of services for vulnerable people, those that are homeless or at risk of homelessness locally; a charity in Cambodia supporting children and girls education and our own village hall in Trellech, to be put towards a new notice board to replace the one currently in use outside the Babington Centre.

We have two ‘takeover teas’ coming up soon. This is an opportunity for local organisations to hire the hall and raise money for their own causes. 27th April will be the turn of the Babington Trust to organise the afternoon and 18th May will be the turn of ‘Home Start’ who provide help and support for families in the locality. Please come along and take refreshment in the usual way, in the knowledge that you are contributing to the community at the same time.

For now, enjoy a cup of tea, coffee and a delicious slice of cake or quiche in the warmth of the hall. Don’t forget we do a range of speciality teas and cafetiere coffees along with a gluten free cake every week.  The 3 smaller pieces of cake for £2.50 is always a popular option and you can always ‘takeaway’ with our purpose built cake boxes.

Hope to see you soon and don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to help or bake!

Best wishes,

Jean Hughes

Merry Christmas from the Babington Centre

How quickly the year has flown by!

We hope to see you on Sunday at our Christmas celebration which follows the annual pensioner lunch. It will be good to see the hall busy with both the young and older generations, and it is a chance to wish friends old and new a Happy Christmas.

We thank those who have supported the hall at events throughout the year and our regular hirers Busy Bodies and Trellech Teas.

We are having an AGM on January 4th at 7pm and invite anyone who would like to attend. We have recently amended our Trust Deed to allow us to have more trustees and if you are interested in joining us please contact a trustee for a chat.

Finally, if you can’t come on Sunday but want draw tickets please let us know via the website or by calling Karen on 07415 665841. We are also still taking orders for our Christmas tree baubles – the tree is looking nice but we could always do with more baubles!

Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Christmas

The Trustees
